We all come into this world with a different capacity for how
many toxins our body can handle before that amount exceeds our
ability to adapt to these environmental stressors. Dr. McCollum,
putting it in layman's terms, states that we each get a different
size cup for carrying toxins. Some people are born with a shot
glass, others a pint glass, while some get a one gallon bucket.
The size of your cup determines how many toxins your body can
handle before it becomes overloaded and diseased, turning on bad
genes that lead to cancer, stroke, diabetes, and a whole range of
autoimmune conditions.

Most of the environmental toxins we are exposed to come through
the foods we eat. To get yourself healthy, it is critical that
you stay away from inflammatory foods. Other sources of toxins
come from molds, heavy metals, hidden infections producing
neurotoxins as a byproduct, off-gassing of new furniture and
building materials, as well as our mother’s umbilical blood.

In his book—Turn Back Your Biological Clock—Dr. McCollum
addresses the issue of toxins, how to identify them, and how to
eliminate them from your body through proper diet,
supplementation, and lifestyle. He also provides a Neurotoxic
Questionaire on his website McCollumWellness.com, where you can
fill out and receive a free assessment of your personal toxicity
score and what signs and symptoms may be indicating you are
suffering from toxic overload.
