Almost everyone is already infected with most of the viruses and
bacteria (i.e. pathogens) that affect human biology. But how can
you be infected with something if you don’t feel sick? These
pathogens are known as “opportunistic organisms”—when the body
environment is stressed and the cells are unhealthy and inflamed,
these organisms take this as a perfect opportunity to proliferate
and take over the system.
However, a virus can only take over your body if it has the right
environment—this is known as the “terrain theory” in medical
science. A weakened and stressed immune system provides the
perfect terrain for a virus to proliferate. But when your immune
system is strong because you’re eating clean, toxin-free foods,
managing stress in a healthy manner, and living an active
lifestyle, then, even if you contract a virus, it’s possible you
still won’t get sick because your healthy internal environment,
or terrain, will no longer be supportive to the virus’s growth
and proliferation.
We should be focusing on ways to build up our immune system. This
will not come about from wearing masks and isolating ourselves

more robust. On the contrary, preventing ourselves from being
exposed to the many pathogens surrounding us actually weakens our
immunity over time. This is because our “immunity muscles” are no
longer being properly exercised, so they begin to deteriorate and
wither away in the same manner that our physical muscles will
start losing strength once we are no longer exercising them. As
the saying goes, “If you don’t use it, you lose it.”
