In 2005 the Environmental Working Group published a
groundbreaking study that found 287 toxic chemicals in the
umbilical cord blood of babies that had not even lived outside of
the womb yet. This toxic overload may explain why we are so sick
in this country and why our children experience a myriad of
chronic diseases so early in life.

We make up 4% of the global population and take 75% of all the
drugs made in the world, and yet somehow we are rated 47th in the
world for health. Our immune systems are terrible, our memories
are shot, and our digestive systems don’t work well.  What
this says is that something’s amuck. Are all the pharmaceutical
drugs we take in America actually helping us? Or are they
creating bigger health problems down the road? All evidence seems
to point to the latter. So what can we do to take our health back
into our own hands?
