The Take Home: Season 1, Episode 7

In episode 7, Jacob lectures on chapter 14 of Peter G.
Northouse's "Leadership: Theory and Practice." He highlights the
Team Leadership approach, describes Hill's Team Leadership Model,
and concludes with strengths and criticisms of the model. 


In the Rapid Fire Interview segment, Jacob discusses leadership
philosophy and the Team Leadership approach with Jeff Martinez,
the Director of Athletics at the University of Redlands. 


Jeff's approach to creating community and a sense of belonging
for his team begins during the hiring process. He describes why
it's important for leaders to be great role models and how doing
so can help integrate new hires into an organization's
culture. 


His motto: "Good leaders don't make decisions alone, but they
can't be afraid to stand alone" serves as an important reminder
that great leaders know their role is to own decisions made by
team members. I don't pass the buck; it stops with me.
