The Take Home: Magnolia on the Mic

This summer, I'm releasing bonus episodes of The Take Home. No
new lectures on leadership, instead I'm sharing the amazing
podcasts created by the students in my Leadership for Sport
Professionals class. 


In today's bonus episode, The Take Home is turned over to Chris
Nayler-Gress, Jake Simon, and Connor Jones' production: Magnolia
on the Mic.


Connor and Chris interview Kendall Jagdeosingh, a professional
soccer player with 11 caps for the Trinidad and Tabago National
Team. The conversation includes a wonderful example of
situational leadership, and Kendall highlights why great leaders
are great listeners and that their actions must align with their
words. He also discusses leadership as influence, but that the
best athlete (highest performer in your organization) isn't
always the best leader. He argues that if everyone on the team is
acting like a leader, you’ll have a high functioning unit.
Lastly, he makes the case that punctuality is a strong indicator
of a leader's performance (2 or 3 seconds can cost me a game).
