Brad Bankston is the commissioner for the Old Dominion Athletic
Conference (ODAC) and was the first ever recipient of first
recipient of the Daniel T. Dutcher Meritorious Service Award,
presented by the Division III Commissioners Association.
He's been the ODAC Commissioner for more than 26 years. During
that time he's overseen a growth in the conference, both in terms
number of members and number of sports offered.

During his tenure he spent significant time volunteering with the
NCAA in various capacities including a four-year term on the
Division III Management Council and other important NCAA Division
III committees (e.g. the Championships Committee and the Football
Championship Committee. The son of a long-time high school
baseball coach, Brad highlights that the most important skills
leaders can refine are building relationships and developing
communication skills. His bottom line: If you want to be a
successful leader you have to like people and be present for your
team/organization.

Listen for how Brad describes trust as experiential learning and
why the "Go Serve" philosophy helps: develop trust; build
relationships; and enhances communication skills.
