This summer I'm releasing bonus episodes of The Take Home. No new
lectures on leadership, instead I'm sharing the amazing podcasts
created by the students in my Leadership for Sport Professionals
class.
Today's bonus episode features "The Timely Rebound" produced and
created by Damian De Leon, Dani Cala, and Garrett Moran. In the
podcast, they interview Danielle Hubenak, a Trust Solutions
Senior Manager at PwC. Danielle is a Trinity alumna
(@TrinityUAlumni) and was active during her time on campus as a
member of the Student Managed Fund and standout on the Trinity
women’s basketball team (@TUWBBall).
Danielle highlights that great leaders are those who focus on
asking good questions, rather than providing all the answers. She
describes that asking good questions can be a sign of
vulnerability, which is a first step to developing trusting
relationships. She encourages us to focus on the process; to
enjoy the journey and to follow our passions. Danielle mentions
that leaders who focus on people first allows for a strong focus
on task during “crunch time” and I love how she uses basketball
as an analogy for leadership.
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did! Let me know what
you think; reach out on LinkedIn or at @TingleJK on Twitter.
