novel by Robert Penn Warren. Rossen was nominated in all three
capacities. Star Broderick Crawford won Best Actor, Mercedes
McCambridge won Best Supporting Actress and John Ireland was
nominated as Best Supporting Actor. The film was also nominated
for its editing.
