Merry Christmas Eve, You Filthy Animals and Happy Holidays to all
you Colorado MMA Fans out there. This is your Holiday special,
Weekend Preview & Matchup Announcements… (Music &
Screen)…

Once again there is no fight action involving Colorado fighters
this weekend, but there were some new fights and matchups
announced this past week. So let’s take a look at the new
matchups!

Elevation Fight Team’s Neil “The Haitian Sensation” Magny (24-7)
vs Michael Chiesa (16-4) has been scheduled for UFC Fight Night
on Wednesday, January 20th. Magny has won three fights in a row
with his last victory coming over the former UFC champion, Robbie
Lawler. You’ll be able to stream the fights live, on ESPN +.

In upcoming local action, Sparta’s next event is coming up on
January 30th, and another featured bout has been added to the
card as Lisa Mucci of Easton Muay Thai will take on Niki Cruz of
Escobar Training Grounds in a Muay Thai fight at 125 lbs.

And in further UFC action, Corey “The Sandman” Sandhagen (13-2)
of Elevation Fight Team is back in the cage after putting Marlon
Moraes to sleep his last time out, with a highlight reel spinning
heal kick to the dome back in October. Sandhagen will join his
Elevation teammate, Alistair Overeem on the card as he will now
take on the former lightweight champ, Frankie Edgar (24-8-1) in a
previously booked but scratched, matchup of top contenders at 135
lbs on February 6th. Alistair Overeem will take on Alexander
Volkov in the main event later that night.

Also on the card will be Devonte “King Kage” Smith (10-2) of
Factory X as he makes his return to the Octagon, after a year
away due to recovery from an achilles tendon injury and surgery.
He will look to get back to his winning ways when he takes on
Alex Da Silva (21-3) in a lightweight contest.

Both of these fights will stream live on ESPN+.

And in another high profile rebooking, Ian “The Hurricane”
Heinisch (14-3) vs Kelvin Gastelum (16-6) is back on the books
after previously getting scrapped due to Covid. Their
middleweight fight is scheduled to take place at UFC 258 on
February 13th. And you’ll be able to watch it live on ESPN + PPV.

That’s your Colorado MMA News, Weekend Preview. Enjoy your
holidays and thanks for watching!
