Sophie Linden joins us this week to discuss the ins and outs of
policing and crime prevention in London, her background in the
Home Office and as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Hackney and
what her job as Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime consists
of.
We discussed the issues facing policing in London in light of
events that have occurred over the past few months, from the
impact of Covid-19 crisis on the crime rate and role of policing,
the reaction in London following the BLM protests in the USA and
what is being done to combat racial profiling and to ensure
greater diversity within policing, as well tackling the
homelessness crisis and what is being done to keep vulnerable
people off the streets.
