004 - Make No Harm: Sami Al-Abdrabbuh on Muslim Science, Engineering and Ethics through History

Sami Al-Abdrabbuh is a man of many talents and a gifted
communicator. In this episode we discuss his perspective on
astronomy, education, science, engineering and history as a Shi'a
Muslim. He also briefly explains his current graduate research in
emergency management, as well as some of his Muslim family
legacy. 


Sami is the chair of the Corvallis School Board and serves as the
president of the Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center and
member of the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition steering
committee. He is a doctoral candidate in the industrial
engineering program at Oregon State University. He teaches
engineering courses at the university including computational
thinking, work systems engineering, engineering economics and
project management. Sami was born in Tucson, Arizona and lived in
Saudi Arabia and Bahrain before he called Oregon home.
