19. 'ZOOM IS LITERALLY A CONDOM, A SOCIAL CONDOM' - Dating & finding love during a pandemic w/ bf & gf Michael & Emer

Hey guys, welcome back to YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP!


Todays episode is another relationship special of the podcast!
But this one is a little different, as it focuses on dating and
finding love during a global pandemic ( lol that sounded so
dramatic writing that but it is literally the reality...ok moving
on lol) 


Who better to do that with than with two people who found love
during covid, my brother and his new girlfriend, Emer!


This is the longest episode of YCMTSU but it focuses on Michael
and Emer's story of how covid actually brought them together,
without it they probably would never have met..


The episode starts off on their advice on using tinder to your
advantage and how to approach someone.


Then we get into a discussion about who should pay on a date, the
wage gap and our thoughts on male and female body counts.


I ask both of them if they believe in the concept of soulmates
and having a gut feeling about a person.


They then chat us through how they made it work during covid,
from drunken times on PUB.ie to 10 hour zoom calls...Did it help
them develop a closer connection?


They take us through their first time meeting in real life after
lockdown restrictions were lifted, which involved a lot of nerves
and a near death experience??! They also  share their advice
on meeting somebody from tinder for the first time during covid.


We then cover other topics like defining the relationship online,
defining it IRL, importance of meeting each others friends, and
how this relationship compares to their past dating experiences.


Finally, they share their advice to people looking to get into a
relationship during these covid times.


It then ends with a little quick fire round on whos who in the
relationship..


Its a super long episode but I really think its a good one for
anyone out their struggling with dating atm.
