How to plan a season long Player Development Program, a
conversation with Carl Wild,

lecturer, author and lead U9’s-U14’s coach at Chester FC

In this episode Carl returns to discuss the topic of player
development and how we might approach supporting our players
individual development over the long-term.

Carl shares his thoughts on what player development means to him
and some of the key elements to player development. We discuss
how this can be embedded over the course of the season and how a
curriculum can be used to support player development. We also
look at session planning, how practices could look and ways to
differentiate `squad` practices to `individual` practices.

Carl also talks to us about his second book – Essential
Practices for Player Development– and how coaches can use the
book to enhance their coaching sessions and support their
players.
