Next Steps


Read Psalm 103:6-12. Underline all the words or phrases that
describe God’s mercy. Which word of phrase stands out to you? Why
do you think that is?

Pastor Kerry reminded us that mercy is evidenced in God’s
steadfast love for us. Another word for steadfast is unwavering.
What do you think it means that God’s love for us is steadfast or
unwavering? How is that different than the way we often love
other people? Take a few minutes and journal your response.

Last week, we challenged you to start a gratitude journal,
spending a few minutes everyday recording what you are grateful
for. This week, we encourage you to not only continue your
gratitude journal, but to take it one step further. In addition
to writing down the things you are grateful for, we encourage you
to tell someone that you are grateful for them or for a specific
thing they did. You can tell them in person or over the phone.
You can write a nice note, text or email to simply let them know
you appreciate them.

6 The Lord works righteousness


    and justice for all who are oppressed.


7 He made known his ways to Moses,


    his acts to the people of Israel.


8 The Lord is merciful and gracious,


    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast
love.


9 He will not always chide,


    nor will he keep his anger forever.


10 He does not deal with us according to our sins,


    nor repay us according to our iniquities.


11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,


    so great is his steadfast love toward
those who fear him;


12 as far as the east is from the west,


    so far does he remove our transgressions
from us.
