Security Licensing Challenges

In the wake of the recent alleged suspension of up to 400
security licenses in Victoria, we speak with Peter Johnson of the
compliance department within ASIAL, Tim Sell of the International
Security Training Academy and David Dettmann, former
Superintendent in charge of security licensing with Victorian
Police about the challenges around security licensing in
Victoria. Are character references an appropriate  form of
probity check? Why does Victoria allow holders of holiday and
overseas student visas to work in security and how many of these
issues could be addressed through the introduction of a national
license?
