“Voters want Michigan to build EVs, but they don't want to buy
them, poll finds,” reads The Detroit News headline. 55% of poll
respondents said Detroit automakers should build EVs – but just
24% said they would consider buying one. That’s compared to just
35% of national voters, and down from 43% just a year ago. The
results are bad news for government EV mandates by 2035. Original
