October brought an October Surprise, but who thought it would
come via the auto industry. Michigan has been at the center of
the 2024 Election Campaign because government agencies targeted
gas engines for elimination by 2035 in favor of an EV mandate.
Cue the surprise. Ford announced it’s idling its Lightning EV
pickup plant due to slow sales, losing $3.7 billion this year
alone. It's election day and the EV mandate is on the ballot. 2
