What Living a Life of Worship Really Means // Passionate Series Part 5

What does living a life of worship really mean? Romans 12:1 says,
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s
mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and
pleasing to God—this is your true and proper
worship.”  





WHAT IS TRUE WORSHIP?


What is true worship? Paul tells us what living a life of worship
is in his letter to the Roman church. It means to offer your body
as a living sacrifice. In general, worship is “a feeling or
expression of reverence and adoration of a deity.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU HEAR THE WORD “WORSHIP”?


Often, we think of music and singing truths found in God’s Word
during a Sunday morning service. But God has more for us at the
heart of worship. He desires that we enter His presence and
realign our hearts with His.


We are called to live a life of worship. It is time to position
our hearts toward God and ask Him to align what is out of
alignment, getting back to the heart of true worship. 





WHAT GETS IN THE WAY OF LIVING A LIFE OF WORSHIP?


Many things in our lives distract us, keeping us from worshiping
Jesus in our day-to-day: our careers, children, spouses, hobbies,
sports, and much more. These things are not bad, but when they
become the center of our thoughts, actions, and beliefs, they
become objects of worship.
