How to Live a Meaningful Life // Meaningless Part 5

Do you want to learn how to live a meaningful life? Or do you
wonder if life is meaningless—chasing after the wind?





The ancient Hebrew King Solomon asked these same questions. He
was the son of David, Israel’s most famous king. And though David
was known as a man with a heart for God, Solomon’s life went in a
different direction.





Solomon had wisdom, wealth, and fame but made some poor choices.
He chased after wealth, power, and women. When he reached the end
of his life, he wrote the book of Ecclesiastes, recounting how
much of it he found to be meaningless—nothing more than a
vapor. 





But he also decided what DOES make life meaningful—fearing God
and keeping His commandments.

what he believed made for a meaningful life.





HOW TO HAVE A MEANINGFUL LIFE





1. Don’t spend your life chasing after the wrong things.





Ecclesiastes 2:10,11.





2. Get yourself some good friends.





Ecclesiastes 4:9–12.





3. There’s a difference between religion and a relationship with
God.





Ecclesiastes 5:1–2.





4. Have a proper relationship with money.





Ecclesiastes 5:18.





5. Have a good name.





Ecclesiastes 7:1.





6. Learn from the hard stuff.





Ecclesiastes 6:1–3.





7. Take sin seriously.





Ecclesiastes 9:18, 10:1.





8. Honor God in your youth.





Ecclesiastes 11:9.





9. Life passes quickly, so do the right things.





Ecclesiastes 12:1.





Here’s how Solomon sums up his life’s wisdom: “Now all has been
heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep
his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind”
(Ecclesiastes 12:13–14).
