Lunchtime Minisode #1 - Mixtapes

It’s time to knock ‘em out the box with the first Lunchtime
Minisode! Kris starts things off for a change (0:22) Then Kris
and Marty talk a little bit about our first minisode, “Mixtapes”
(0:48).  After that brief intro, we jump right in to our
first minisode with a brief recap of seeing the Breeders the

into indirectly pioneering mashups (20:21) Varying degrees of
quality in blank tapes (22:55) Kris making a mixtape for his high
school sweetheart after they broke up (33:26) Mixtapes’ cache in
hip hop culture (38:40) Autumn De Wilde’s amazing Elliott Smith
photo book (49:40) and Nick Hornby’s troublesome mixtape rules
from the novel High Fidelity (56:20). Then, we close it out with
a recap on our feelings on said mixtape rules espoused by the
character Rob Gordon in the aforementioned novel. (1:03:00).
