'Moonlight' Director on Making His Masterpiece

Barry Jenkins is the lavishly gifted director and screenwriter of
"Moonlight." Fresh off a Golden Globe win for Best Picture Drama,
"Moonlight" is shaping up as the one film that can give "La La
Land" a run for its Oscar gold. Featuring award-caliber
performances from Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris and the three young
actors (Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders and Trevante Rhodes) who share
the lead role of a boy growing up black, gay and alienated in the
Miami projects, "Moonlight" is an emotional wipeout. Jenkins
himself says he can't watch the film with an audience. It's that
