TT003 | Brogan Austin

My guest today is Brogan Austin, marathon runner currently based
in Boulder, CO.


Brogan’s list of accomplishments in running are many and this
year he was a participant in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon
Trials, a spot he earned by winning the 2018 USATF Marathon
Championships at CIM in a time of 2:12:39. We talk about that US
Championship race and I specifically enjoyed diving into his
mindset on the starting line, coming in as the 19th ranked runner
in the race.


We also talk about his early days in Iowa, darker points in his
running career, and how the drive and determination to pull
himself up and accomplish what he knew he was capable of landed
him a spot on the wildly popular Tinman Elite team for Adidas.


It is a fantastic episode, and I had a lot of fun chatting with
Brogan there in Boulder.
