Europeans first contact with Maori in 1769: Sheridan Gundry

James Cook and his men first made contact with the Maori people on
October 8th, 1769. Mandela interviews Sheridan Gundry, an award
winning journalist and author of five books. Her most recent book
is titled "A Splendid Isolation," which covers the general history
of Gisborne and New Zealand's north island's eastern coast.
