On this episode of Discover Janesville: A plumber from Janesville,
Ryan Boggs, just returned from a year-long stint working at South
Pole, where temperatures reached over 100 degrees Fahrenheit below
zero. Ryan shared his memories and impressions as well as why
he is happy to be back in Janesville. Jake Sailing is a man of many
hats. On this episode Jake spoke about promoting Janesville
Wrestling Alliance and the challenge of finding a venue for this
popular attraction, JATV and the exciting opportunities Jake sees
there, and UpUrSleeve.com, a company making humorous t-shirts and
other apparel. Jake also spoke about his annual Ugly Sweater
Christmas Party held on December 23rd every year for over 15 years.
The party originated as a way for Jake to give back to the
community. This year's Ugly Sweater Christmas Party will be
held at Black Bridge Bowl on December 23rd as always, starting at 7
pm. Proceeds will go to benefit Humane Society of Southern
Wisconsin and Janesville Community Radio! Becky Strupp called in to
talk about the vendor fair coming up at Janesville Mall this
weekend, and to share her thoughts on working in Colorado. Rock
County Representative Jason Dowd stopped in to talk about the
legislative successes that he together with other supervisors, have
been able to spearhead, such as passing unanimously a resolution
asking Wisconsin State DNR to request Enbridge Pipeline to do an
environmental study of the impact its pipeline will have on Rock
County, and the idea of examining the size and the general way that
Rock County Board of Supervisor functions and operates. Be in the
