Host Adam Burke opened up the show with a version of The Bettor’s
Box, his MLB betting podcast. We’ll have those on Mondays and
Thursdays over the baseball season, so it stands to reason that
we’d start a little bit now, especially with Brad Powers taking a
bit of a leave of absence from the show. Adam talked about the
PECOTA projections that came out earlier this week, the function
that they serve for him, and how much impact they have on his
handicapping. He also discussed injury updates in Spring Training
to this point and the debacle that is the Houston Astros. John Ryan
joined Adam to finish out the show with some thoughts on the NBA
and college basketball. The guys talked about the last two games in
the NBA before the Break and then talked about what John does
during the All-Star Break in order to prep for the rest of the
season. On the college hoops side of the spectrum, they discussed
Iowa vs. Indiana tonight and then looked at Saturday in the Big Ten
and in the Big East to isolate any of the games and situations that
are on John’s radar for the massive card on February 15.
