Known as the opal capital of the world, and famous for its
incredible underground dwellings, this place is like no other
we’ve visited! We find the perfect base at an awesome Hipcamp
property, overlooking the vast outback, and enjoy a number of
free events as part of the annual Opal Festival including a night
at the drive in theatre to watch the famous Australian
blockbuster The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert
(which was filmed on location in Coober Pedy!).


Plus we enjoy a fantastic half day tour with Nobel Tours
Australia to experience the best of Coober Pedy underground,
including a drive out to the spectacular Breakaways!
