For episode 34 we travel to Nairobi, Kenya for a chat with an
artist whose whimsical voice and impeccable production paints a
vivid story of her experiences growing up on the continent. Meet
Nabalayo. 


She's the pioneer of the Changanya genre, a style that she
characterizes as a complex mix of heavy electronic sounds
perfectly weaved together with African idioms and light airy
vocals.

Nabalayo recently performed at this year’s Nyege Nyege Festival
for Black Bandcamp’s stage and she’s only getting started. 
The talented musician talks about her experience growing up in
Nairobi and she dives into the process of making her new
album Changanya.
