96. Your First Ministry Is Your Home + Why You Need Serious Wisdom To Grow Your Online Business

On this week’s episode, we’re talking about family when it comes
to entrepreneurship. For me, I’ve never not been an
entrepreneur…kids came after I already had a photography business
up and running, and then eventually pivoting to being a Christian
Business Coach. For others, your business might have come after
you already had kids. Either way, our family has to be our first
ministry. This is near and dear to my heart because it is so easy
to get this out of balance. It’s easy to get hyper-focused on the
work that needs to be done and at the same time avoid other
important work we need to do. Listen in as we dive into habits
that can help us balance this out.


Different Seasons Call for Different Commitments


As we build our businesses, we can set it up to work for our
family and the rhythm of the school year. For me, summers and
holidays are lowkey; I want to be fully present when my kids are
home from school. Over the past 12 months, as I’ve scaled my
business, I’ve made purposeful decisions to put my sales on
evergreen so I’m able to step away from the work at different
points in the year. Even in those seasons of stepping away, there
are times I do get bored, but I’m working on staying present in
the moment because you simply can’t push ahead 100% of the time.


You Might Have to Re-Steer The Ship


Even with purposeful planning, it’s easy for life to get out of
balance. As we’re growing our business, we need to grow with
flexibility, keeping sustainability in mind. It truly is a
constant battle, even when we’re mindful. We must be mindful and
purposeful about re-steering the ship when it gets off course and
be encouraged that have the authority to be in control of our
time and energy.


Sometimes It’s Time to Let Go of Things


Wisdom points to know when to let go, and let God do his thing.
Sometimes we need to let go of parts of our business, people, and
even money for what’s next. If it’s not a sustainable pace, it’s
time to let it go! And even something that has worked in the
past, it may no longer be beneficial for the current season. Stay
focused. Pray. And be brave enough to let it go! Read More...
