What It Means To Be a Badass

A real badass is driven by values such as responsibility,
justice, honour, courage, compassion, humility, integrity, and
selflessness, which pretty much disqualifies most every
self-proclaimed badass out there. A badass is someone who does
the dirty jobs, the jobs that other people don’t want to do, for
example, our troops and inner-city teachers. A badass does what
needs to be done, no matter how difficult it is, without
complaint or need for fanfare. A badass doesn’t take the path of
least resistance.

A badass is someone who stands up for the weak and oppressed,
speaks the truth, and calls out those who lie, cheat, and steal.
A badass is someone who takes a “hit for the team”, meaning puts
others’ needs ahead of their own, whether a soldier in his
platoon, a parent working two jobs to give her children a better
life, or a CEO who cares more about his employees than his P
& L statement during an economic crisis.

What it means to be a BadassPreneur

Being an entrepreneur can be lonely. Sometimes you think you’re
crazy, trying to do something new. Something different. Something
impossible. Often it’s something no one has ever done before.
Getting to “no” on most days: No money. No takers. No
understanding. No sleep.

Being a lifestyle entrepreneur in the wellness space is, I
believe, harder than in other market places.

With our SHARED BIG VISION of ensuring optimal well-being for our
planet’s citizens and a world free of preventable disease, we’re
insurgents competing for the commanding heights of the healthcare
economy, against incumbents who have amassed more wealth and
power than most companies in history.

Collectively we will disrupt billionaire families, big
pharma, government bureaucrats, and Old King WHO… and they don’t
take too kindly to us meddling with their ‘authority monopoly’
and profits.

But here’s the caveat: Rebels rarely succeed by going solo.

The fight is too hard. The road too long. The friction too
strong. Like little turtles hatching in the sand on a beach,
there are too many gulls in the sky and too many sharks in the
water. Our wellness businesses and practices need to be modelled,
incubated, iterated and supported to emerge into the big blue
ocean of preventative health.

That’s why I’m intent on advocating more innovative lifestyle
business models and systems for implementing and running them: so
that more wellness entrepreneurs can succeed. So that more
creative collisions can occur. So that more wellness
entrepreneurs, therapists and practitioners can find their first
customer, their first hire, their first $10X month.

I’m intent on helping humanity by spreading wellness companies
everywhere. And I want to do it in a kinder, more inclusive, and
more cooperative than competitive way. This is not dog-eat-dog.
It is a happy pack of kindred souls finding a path for ourselves
and others to tread. Together we will all go further. Alone you
might go faster. But it won’t be as much fun, nor as fruitful.
If you want to walk fast, walk alone. If you want to walk far,
walk together. – African Proverb
