Jamie Roberts Nelson LMFT is the founder of Equilibrium
Counseling Services, a teen mental health center in Southern CA.
After being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult Jamie dove into the
literature and lived experiences of neurodivergent people to
better understand the nuances of ADHD, Autism and the prevalence
of misdiagnosis. Jamie has worked in conjunction with an
adolescent psychiatrist assessing and differentiating adolescent
symptomology for over 8 years. In her own practice she provides
support and psychoeducation to teens, young adults and their
families to better understand and celebrate the magic of a
neurodivergent mind.


*ADHD vs ADD: Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) was
formerly known as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). These two
labels are still often used interchangeably. ADHD is the primary
diagnosis accompanied by one of three subtypes: Inattentive,
Hyperactive or Combine Type.
