Welcome to TV Break, where Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor
Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV
Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in
television. This month, Josh is on the move, so
CinemaJoes co-host
Justin Mancini joins as a guest
co-host.

Here’s the format of the show:

The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex,
Bill, and Justin talk about a show/episode/event they liked from
the last month including AppleTV Plus’s Ted Lasso; Disney Plus’s
Monsters at Work & Behind the Attraction; FX on Hulu’s Fargo;
AMC’s Kevin Can F- Himself, & HBO’s The White
Lotus.

News Break – Alex, Bill, and Justin break down
all the ins and outs of this years Emmy nominees
including the big winners like Ted Lasso, The Mandalorian, and
The Crown, as well as I May Destroy You, WandaVision, SNL, Big
Budget Genre series, & Hamilton for some reason. They also
get into Justin’s deep dissatisfaction with Small Axe’s many
snubs.

Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, and Justin pick a
streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows
airing/upcoming shows announced etc. This month, everyone had a
different horse in the race. Bill found the combo of Space Jam 2,
The Suicide Squad, and Woodstock 99, along with the
recent Batgirl casting news, is enough to put HBOMAX
over the finish line. Meanwhile, Justin stood up for historic
underdog Disney Plus for their many Emmy successes, their Black
Widow release, and their giant Loki finale.
Finally, Alex repped for Netflix on the back of their season two
releases for I Think You Should Leave, Never Have I Ever, &
Outer Banks, the return of Twilight to the service, the premiere
of Masters of the Universe: Revelation & Sexy Beast,
the surprising success of the Fear Street
Trilogy, and (effectively) leading the Emmy nominations
for all networks.

Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, and Justin
watched Netflix’s Mark Hamill & Sarah Michelle Gellar
starring Master of the Universe:
Revelations.
