There’s arguably no superhero in existence that has been
reimagined, redefined, or reinterpreted more than Batman.
No matter how many times he’s been rebooted, audiences are always
willing to come back to Gotham City’s greatest defender.
With so much Bat content out there, there’s plenty to dissect,
analyze, and of course, rank! This podcast is dedicated to
a surgical evaluation of Batman’s history, with a focus on
ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other
classic Bat themes and characters.
Join host Daniel Cohen, Pop Break’s former Film Editor and
Resident Bat-Maven, as he brings on several guests every month to
share his passion for the one and only Dark Knight. From
Adam West to Robert Pattinson, no bat stone will be left
unturned. Bottom-line: If you’re a Batman fan, this is
required listening.
In this episode, Daniel is joined once again by Podcast Editor
Alex Marcus, and Pop Break TV Podcast contributor Michael T. Ford
III for another superb and hotly contested rankings episode!
Before getting into the main topic though, the crew reminisce and
pay tribute to one of the most important figures in the history
of Batman, Kevin Conroy. This podcast was recorded just a
couple days after Conroy’s passing, so no doubt the crew wanted
to give this iconic performer the honor he deserves.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving and being with our families, we
honor Batman’s family for this month’s rankings! That’s
right, we’re ranking all of Batman’s allies in his never-ending
fight against crime! We look back at the movies, as we
discuss, debate, and rank all the Alfreds, Robins, Batgirls,
Gordons, Catwomen, Lucius Fox, and of course, the one and only,
Chief O’Hara!
Who will be the highest ranked Alfred? Do we spend an
absurd amount of time debating whether or not John Blake is
actually a Robin? Will Dan’s dream of Batman v Superman:
Dawn of Justice getting a not awful ranking finally be realized
on this podcast?
If for nothing else, we can almost guarantee a podcast has never
discussed the character of Alfred Pennyworth as much as we do
here, as we sift through SIX different iterations of the
character. Long live the Burma speech!
