continues to be totally outrageous as we revisit Jem and The
Holograms 2015 movie.





The Human Star Wars Encyclopedia, The Padme Amidala of Anime, and
co-host of The Socially Distanced and Anime x Pop podcasts Amanda
Rivas is joined by her unofficial sister and long-time best
friend Marissa Ruiz, as Amanda's blood rival, Vanessa Gonzales,
is on assignment searching for Synergy's missing robotic pieces.
The movie follows Jerrica Benton who becomes famous as mysterious
alter-ego Jem when a video of her singing in Jem's hair and
make-up is uploaded to YouTube. Jerrica, her sister Kimber, and
foster sisters Shana and Aja put on three shows after being
courted by Starlight Records executive Erica Raymond while
searching for the missing pieces of SYNERGY, a robot Jerrica's
dad left her before his passing.  





Marissa and Amanda briefly discuss their love of the 1985 Jem and
the Holograms cartoon, their initial reactions to the 2015 film's
release, cast performances, and why they love Erica Raymond and
her bodyguard Zipper. They also discuss how they thought the film
could have succeeded and major plot changes the film made.
