PixMix Episode 26: Soul

In this episode of PixMix, Arun and Patricia discuss about the 2020
Pixar animated film Soul co-written and directed by Pete Docter.
The film is about a high school music teacher named Joe Gardner who
finally gets the gig of his dreams playing piano alongside with a
famous jazz group. However, he falls into a manhole and is on the
brink of death heading to the Great Beyond. He escapes into the
Great Before where souls find their spark into living life on Earth
and mentors helping them get there. Joe poses as a mentor and is
paired up with a soul named 22 who doesn't want to go to Earth.
They make a deal that Joe would help 22 get its spark on Earth so
that he could get home in time for his gig. Warning: major spoilers
ahead.   The movie was originally suppose to air around June
2020, but was delayed until Christmas Day 2020 due to the
coronavirus. Soul was critically acclaimed by critics and fans
calling it a spiritual sequel to the 2015 film Inside Out. Arun and
Patricia had already seen a Pixar film in 2020 with Onward and were
underwhelmed with it. Does Soul suffer from a similar fate or is it
Pixar's true return to form?
