In this episode of the Roald Dahl Retrospective, Patricia, Arun,
and special guest Eli "TheHeroOfTomorrow" Stone discuss about the
2009 stop motion animated film Fantastic Mr. Fox based on the
1970 book of the same name co-written and directed by Wes
Anderson. It stars George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason
Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Willen DeFoe, Michael Gambon, Eric
Anderson, Robin Hurlstone, Hugo Guinness, and Jarvis Cocker.
The movie is about a fox named Mr. Fox who has a love
for hunting chicken, geese, and other things in farms alongside
with his wife. However, they were captured and Mrs. Fox reveals
that she's pregnant asking Mr. Fox to never hunt again. Two years
later, they have a son named Ash and Mr. Fox is a newspaper
writer. Feeling unsatisfied with his life, Mr. Fox moves in a
large tree with his family and learns that he lives near three
farmers named Boggis, Bunce, and Bean. Mr. Fox decides to plan
the ultimate plan stealing their goods behind their backs. Little
does he know that they found out and they plan to kill him.

When the movie premiered in theaters, it only made $46.5 million
dollars out of a $40 million dollar budget and had gotten praise
from critics. However it was overshadowed by other critically
acclaimed animated films such as Coraline and Up. Since then, it
has became a cult classic for animation fans and Roald Dahl fans.
What do they think of the film? Listen and find out.
