In this episode of The Banter Broadcast, Patricia, Eian, Andrew,
and Malia finally tackle the 2012 Nickelodeon animated series The
Legend of Korra in honor of its recent release on Netflix. The show
takes place 70 years after Avatar: The Last Airbender focusing on a
new Avatar, a teenage girl from the Southern Water Tribe named
Korra. After mastering Water, Earth, and Fire, she travels to
Republic City to get training from Aang's son Tenzin on how to
master air. Along the way, she meets up with Toph's daughter Lin, a
police officer, two brothers named Mako and Bolin, and a rich,
intelligent non-bender named Asami. She tackles in many adversaries
with different ideals and struggles to find her place in the world
in a time where the Avatar may not be needed anymore. When the show
premiered, many fans were left either disappointed with the show
calling it "inferior" to Avatar: The Last Airbender or praising it
for its darker, more mature storytelling and complex morals. What
do they think of it? Listen and find out. Check out Eian's
