Journey to the Blue Sky Episode 2: Robots

In this episode of Journey to the Blue Sky, Arun and Patricia
discuss about the 2005 Blue Sky animated film Robots starring
Ewan McGregor, Robin Williams, Amanda Bynes, Drew Carey, Gary
Kinnear, and Mel Brooks. Set in a world filled with robots, a
young inventor named Rodney Copperbottom journeys to Robot City
to fulfill his dream of working with entrepreneur Bigweld and his
company Bigweld Industries by presenting his new invention
Wonderbot. However, when arriving, he learned that Bigweld is no
longer the president of Bigweld Industries, but instead a young,
ruthless, and power hungry robot named Ratchet who wishes to no
longer provide old, cheap scrapped body parts and instead having
robots buy expensive upgrades. Rodney meets up with a group of
robots called The Rusties and helps robots by fixing them.
Ratchet, learning about what Rodney is doing, is determined to
find him and take him to the Chop Shop where all old robots go to
being scrapped. It's up to Rodney and his friends to find Bigweld
and stop Ratchet from his evil plans.


When Robots premiered in theaters, it received over $262 million
dollars out of a $75 million dollar budget getting mixed reviews
from critics and viewers. It has now gained a cult following.
