Old Spook Lane Creepy Chats: Beetlejuice

Old School Lane is going to a spooky direction on Casual Chats
this October with Old Spook Lane Creepy Chats. For this year,
it's Tim Burton Month. Patricia and Arun starts things off with
his second film Beetlejuice released in 1988. Adam and Barbara
Maitland, a couple who recently passed away from a car accident,
are trying to cope with being ghosts trapped in their house and
seeing a new family moving in and being the complete opposites of
them. They wish to scare them away, but are having difficulties
doing it. They see that a bio-exorcist named Betelgeuse on TV and
feel that he could help them, but is warned that he is wild and
dangerous. Can Adam and Barbara solve their problem?


When the film premiered, it became a hit making $74.7 million
dollars out of a $15 million dollar budget. It has since had an
animated series, a Broadway musical, and an upcoming sequel
coming out in 2024. How does the original film hold up 35 years
