In this episode of Casual Chats, Patricia and Kevin discuss about
one of their favorite movies of all time: the 1988 animated/live
action hybrid film Who Framed Roger Rabbit? based on the 1981
book Who Censored Roger Rabbit? by Gary K. Wolf. A washed up
detective named Eddie Valliant is hired by a cartoon named Roger
Rabbit to clear his name after he was suspected of murdering
famed animator Marvin Acme. Meanwhile, an eccentric business man
named Judge Doom wants to find Roger and sentence him to death
via a liquid called The Dip that kills cartoons.

When the film premiered, it made $351 million dollars out of a
$50 million dollar budget receiving critical acclaim from critics
and viewers loving the animation, the story, the characters, and
its premise. It was one of the crucial films that would bring
Disney into a new golden age a year before The Renaissance Era
would begin with The Little Mermaid. But does it hold up after
over 35 years later? Listen and find out.
