In this second bonus episode of Old Spook Lane Creepy Chats, Arun
and Patricia continue their lookback at the 1989 animated series
Beetlejuice based on the 1988 movie directed by Tim Burton with
the 4th season that aired exclusively on Fox Fids. Lydia Deetz is
a 12-year-old goth girl who lives in a small town called Peaceful
Pines with her parents, goes to an all girls' school with her
friends Prudence and Bertha, and befriends a ghost who lives in
the house named Beetlejuice. Together, they go through many crazy
adventures in both the real world and the world of the dead
called The Neitherworld with Beetlejuice causing trouble towards
everyone in his path, including his neighbors Jacques LaLean, a
skeleton who loves working out, Ginger, a tap dancing spider, and
The Monster Across the Street, a giant hairy monster with a dog
named Poopsie. New to the series are a clown named Scuzzo, a
television executive named Mr. Monitor, a cowboy named Jesse
Germs, and Beetlejuice's brother Donny. Shortly after the ABC run
had ended, the show was moved to Fox Kids where it had 65
episodes with a lot more wacky and zany adventures. It had even
won an Emmy tying with The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as
Best Animated Show. How well does it hold up? Is it better than
the ABC run?
