After years of working in healthcare as a physiotherapist,
spiritual training and working as a digital entrepreneur Peter
Vermeiren discovered and integrated the power of breath for
health and happiness. He founded an institute called Breath of
Freedom where he offers mediation and breathwork sessions. One
type is holotropic breathwork, a New Age practice, developed by
the psychiatrist Stanislaf Grof in the 1970s to enter a
non-ordinary state of consciousness, comparable to the use of
psychedelics.
