Christmas Eve, 1945 was a night that changed the Sodder family
forever.  Sometime after 1 AM, a fire broke out on the first
floor of their Fayetteville, West Virginia home.  George and
Jennie Sodder were able to get their four kids, sleeping on the
first floor, out of the house safely.  However, the fire
spread so quickly that George could not get up to the five kids
sleeping on the second floor

The investigation into the fire said the fire was caused by
faulty wire and the five Sodder children died.  This is
where the story gets interesting.  No remains of the
children were ever found in the burnt rubble.  George and
Jennie Sodder were convinced their children did not die in the
fire.  If they didn’t pass away in the fire, what happened
to them?  This is the question Phil and Travis will cover.
