Think of Bob Katsionis as the Vangelis of Metal. Extraordinarily
talented, a multi-faceted career, and highly respected in music. So
it only made sense for myself and Turn It Up host Jim Alvino to
speak with him on a tourbus outside of a bar in Hampton Beach, New
Hampshire. While Firewind deserves arena-status, the band tours the
U.S. no matter the climate. Therefore their dedication to their
craft knows no boundaries, and as this conversation proves Bob and
the band will push those boundaries. While we may or may not get a
Firewind african-drumming album, we can expect more Melodic Metal
mastery. But here's hoping for Bob to record a tribute album to the
older synth masters like Vangelis, Tomita, and Synergy.
