INTRODUCTION- SERIES: NOW WHAT? GET TO WORK!


MATTHEW 28:19-20


19 Therefore GO and MAKE disciples of all nations,
BAPTIZING them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit,  20 and TEACHING them to obey
everything I have COMMANDED you. And surely I am WITH YOU always,
to the very end of the age.”


Jesus has given us our "marching orders". There are two things we
should remember about this. First, these words are a command.
That is why we call it the Great Commission and not the Great
Suggestion. Jesus did not say, "Look, if you are in the mood, if
it works into your busy schedule, as a personal favor to me,
would you consider going into the world and making disciples?"
No. this is a command.  (James 4:17) says, “Therefore, to
him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”


The 10/40 Window is a term devised by a Christian missionary
strategist named Luis Bush. This 10/40 Window refers to those
regions of the eastern hemisphere, the European and African part
of the western hemisphere, that’s located between 10 and 40
degrees north of the equator. These areas have been found to have
the highest level of socioeconomic challenges, and the least
access to the gospel message on the planet. These areas have
great poverty and a low quality of life, combined with lack of
access to Christian resources. Roughly two-thirds (5 billion 196
million) of the world’s population lived in the 10/40 Window.
What does that mean, out of the 7.795 billion people in the
world, 5.196 billion are in this 10/40 Window. These areas are
predominantly Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, animist, Jewish, or
atheist. Many governments in the 10/40 Window are officially or
unofficially opposed to Christian work of any kind within their
borders. 57 countries are involved in this 10/40 Window. 


As Hudson Taylor said, “the Great Commission is not an option to
be considered; it is a command to be obeyed.” If we are to be
Jesus’ disciples, we must go and preach the only message of
salvation: “that Christ died for our sins that He was buried and
was raised on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). 41.8% of the
world’s population have little or no exposure to the gospel. 97%
of these people live in the10/40 Window regions. Amen!!!
