SERIES: NOW WHAT? EPISODE 17: LISTEN AND OBEY GOD!

ISAIAH 8: 9-14


9 Raise the war cry, you nations, and be shattered!
Listen, all you distant lands. Prepare for battle, and be
shattered!    Prepare for battle, and be shattered!
10Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose
your plan, but it will not stand,  for God is with
us.11 This is what the Lord says to me with his strong
hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people:
12 “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a
conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.
13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy,
he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.
14 He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he
will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that
makes them fall.  And for the people of Jerusalem he will be
a trap and a snare.


It’s time for Christians to RISE UP and take a stand against sin.
 

God has sent out a WAR CRY and it is loud and clear. It is time
for the church (you and me) time for us to go into battle for the
lost and unloved souls. God has called you out of the dugout of
life. You have used up all your excuses, there is a new ending
and you are next in line to be used by God, it’s time for you to
bring some folks on home to God. Stop listening to the fans in
the stands (you know, the haters, those who are envious and
jealous of you, those who refuse to listen and obey, the back
catcher (Satan). I know he is all up in your ear and you feel the
heat of his breath but trust the Empire, until He calls you OUT,
you must keep on going!


(Gen 12:1) Abraham - Go from your country and your people and go
to a land 8 will show you…the Bible said that he went as the Lord
had told him. 


(Exodus 5:1) Moses - Go to Pharaoh and tell him to let my people
go…are you like Moses coming up with all kinds of excuses as to
why you can’t go.


Hosea 1:2 - or maybe you’re like Hosea, when God told him to go
and marry a harlot or in today’s vernacular, a prostitute. The
Bible said that Hosea went, and married Gomer as the Lord had
commanded him. 


Jonah - maybe you’re like Jonah, who ran in the opposite
direction when God told him to go preach to the Ninevites. We
know the story…God gets His way. (Jonah 2:2) Amen!!!


Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will
enter the kingdom of Heaven. The one who would enter must do the
will of my Father who is in heaven. (Mat. 7:21-27)


When you are living an obedient life, it is a form of worship and
it glories God.  When we obey God, it shows our respect and
adoration for Him. It draws us closer to God and our relationship
deepens. Obedience is an important part of the Christian life; it
is part of testimony as a believer. Jesus says in John 14:15 if
you love me, you will obey me. 

Psalm 119:1-2 tells us that we are:


Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
     who walk according to the law of the
Lord.
 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
     and seek him with all their heart—
