Mark 3:7-20

So far in Mark's gospel, we've seen that Jesus has come to
establish his kingdom. As king, he has authority over us as
humans (evidenced by him calling people to repentance); authority
over Satan and his demons; authority over sickness and disease;
and authority to forgive sins. After calling people to follow him
and drawing a huge crowd, Jesus now delegates his authority to 12
disciples who will be sent out (the meaning of the word
"apostle") to bring the reality of the kingdom far and wide.
