the very talented and knowledgeable translator Frederik Schodt.
Fred did us the honor of sitting down with us and talking with us
about the early days of translating Japanese comics, Japan's
fascination with robots, Japanese culture, the tears of Astroboy,
his latest book on the Heart Sutra, and so much more. Fred has
been a translator of many Japanese comics and novels such as,
Ghost in the Shell, Astroboy, Phoenix, Pluto, The Osamu Tezuka
Story, just to name a few.
