“The first characteristic of a healthy family is to have an
attitude of service.” Author, speaker, pastor, and counselor, Dr.
Gary Chapman, shares about his newest book, 5 Traits of a Healthy
Family. He gives wise counsel from his years of experience and
his lessons from the Lord. As Jesus emptied Himself and became
human to serve and save us, we too should display this same
service to our spouse and children. Listen in to hear Dr. Chapman
give us ideas on how to do just that.

SCRIPTURES

You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I
am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you
also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an
example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.
Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his
master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
John 13:13-16 ESV

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider
equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by
taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness
of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled
Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a
cross. Philippians 2:5-8 NASB

For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is
the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now
as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in
everything to their husbands. Ephesians 5:23-24 ESV

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility
count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you
look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of
others. Philippians 2:3-4 ESV
