Mass Timber Market Updates - Dec 2021 - Week Fourtynine

In this week's episode, we are pleased to announce that

also welcome! New research on cross-laminated timber (CLT) walls
could have far-reaching implications for New Zealand's quest to
become carbon-neutral, as well as reducing earthquake risks. The
Eric Tweedale Stadium designed by dwp | design worldwide and
partnership Australia and Northrop Engineers has been announced
as the winner of the Australian Timber Design Award 2021. DIALOG
has filed for the patent of its Hybrid Timber Floor System
(HTFS). Once approved, the system could lead to the introduction
of mass timber structural solutions into the supertall tower
category. Wood is also being championed as the future of building
materials, namely in the form of innovative cross-laminated
timber or CLT. Not only does using CLT lower the amount of CO2
that a building produces but, crucially, wood can capture carbon
from the atmosphere. This means builders and designers can
construct with ambitious CO2 reduction targets in mind.
