In this week's episode, Hyne Timber Group (Hyne Timber and XLam)
is pleased to announce a partnership with UK-based James Jones
& Sons Ltd  (JJSL), bringing together a combined 320
years of family-owned sawmilling heritage to pursue growth
opportunities. Incredible step forward for Australia and the mass
timber construction sector. The Clean Energy Finance Corporation
(CEFC) – which invests in behalf of the #Australian Government –
has unveiled a $300 million program to encourage mass timber
building across the building sector. Under the program, eligible
projects will be able to access Commonwealth funded debt-finance
of between $20 million and $75 million.  An advanced modular
hotel will be maximising the use of Whyalla produced steel,
ensuring we are supporting local jobs and industry - other
materials will need to be sourced elsewhere, such as the
panelling of the hotel, which is cross-laminated timber (CLT)
from plantation timber. The University of Newcastle’s Q Building
has become the first building in regional NSW to achieve a 6 Star
Green Star ‘Design and As Built’ certified rating. The
construction of downtown Delafield's first mass timber building
started Feb. 2 after years of delay, Hendricks Commercial
Properties announced.
